Opportunity Stage Tracking
The missing element of the Act! opportunity module is a stage tracking module. Yes, you can set a stage to your opportunities but Act! doesn't provide you with a way to monitor how long the opportunity has been in a particular stage and above all, if it has been sitting too long in such a stage.
With Opportunity Stage Tracking, Act! records the stages under a Stage Tracking tab that gives you a quick view of how the opportunity is progressing.
Defining alert levels for your stages
Opportunity Stage Tracking also allows you to define alert levels for each stage. There are 3 levels: normal, medium, high. Let's say your have a stage called "Follow-up" and you set the normal level to be between 0 and 15 days, medium between 15-30 and high above 30 days, every time you display an opportunity at this stage, the add-on will display a green, yellow or red sign on the Stage Tracking to alert you of the situation of the opportunity.
This alert is displayed on the Stage Tracking tab of the Opportunity Details view.
Opportunity Stage Tracking also allows you to colorize your Opportunity listview based on the alert level.
