Importing Evernote notes

To import a note from Evernote into Act!, go to the Notes tab of the record you want to import the note into, then press the Import button.

The Select An Evernote Note window pops up. It displays the last 200 notes of your default notebook (To change your default notebook, go to the Act! Tools menu, then select Evernote Plugin for Act!, then go to Options>Preferences).

You can search notes by typing a word in the Search box and clicking the Search button. Or type your word, then a space and the search will automatically be triggered. Evernote does not allow partial searches, so it will only search words, not a portion of a word.

Once you found the note you want to import, simply double-click it or select it and click the OK button. In the Evernote Note Content To Import window that appears immediately, you see under the Note tab, the content of the note and under the Files tab, the files attached to the note if any. At this point, you can edit the note content (it will not modify the note in Evernote) and you can check the box to delete the note after successful import. (this may be checked by default if you set it up this way in your Preferences).

Importing files

By default, files are attached to the Documents tab. If you want certain types of files to be attached to the Act! note instead, you need to specify it under Options>Preferences.

Please note that only one file can be attached to a note. Therefore if multiple files are attached to the Evernote note and more than one meet the requirement to be attached to the note, only the first one that does will be attached. The others will be attached to the Documents tab.

If you do not want to import an attached file, simply uncheck its box. Attached files are added to the Documents tab of the Act! record.
