You have access to your Favorites menu from any ACT! view. So for instance you may go directly from the Opportunity view to a Contact Record or a Contact Lookup by simply clicking a Favorite. This is a huge time saver.
Your favorites allow you to navigate quickly within the same view as well. If you are in the company detail view and you want to go from one company to another, you know how cumbersome it can be either to expand the treeview and navigate through it or to use the Lookup menu. On the other hand, it can be as simple as clicking a Favorite.
Using the CTRL Key while clicking a single record favorite
Bear in mind that if the favorite is in the current lookup, the add-on will not create a new lookup but rather select the favorite in the current lookup.
If you'd rather wish to create a new lookup composed of a single record (the favorite), hold the CTRL key while clicking the favorites menu item.
If the record is not in the current lookup, the add-on will automatically create this single record lookup. By default, you will be prompted to confirm that you really want to leave the current lookup. If you wish to not be prompted anymore, open the Options window and uncheck the box highlighted below under the General tab.
Using the CTRL Key while clicking a lookup favorite
When you save a lookup of record as a favorite, the sort criterias are recorded. When you click on a Lookup Favorite, the lookup is displayed and the sort criterias are applied as saved.
If you'd rather keep the sort criterias currently applied to your grid and ignore the saved sort criterias, hold the CTRL key while clicking the favorites menu item.
