Importing a DNC List

The first step in setting up Advanced Do Not Call List Lookup is to import the DNC lists that you bought from your DNC list source.

Importing consists in converting your list into a format readible by the add-on and setting it up as part of the lists that the add-on scans to evaluate ACT! records. In the following video we'll show you how to do this. Here are a few things to remember:

  • You may convert a text file or a zip file (which is typically the format you'll receive your files in). If for any reason, importing the zip file does not work, unzip the file yourself and import the text file.
  • When importing, you have to enter the date of the list. This date defaults to today's date. It is important if you want the addon to remind after a certain number of days that you need to get a new list from your DNC source (see the Validity of the lists setting under Options>Preferences to setup the number of days).
  • Once the file is converted, it is important (but not mandatory) to set it up as your or one of your default lists. If you don't, the add-on won't take it into account while doing phone checks. Note though that you can add it later at any time.
